I hate grump mode!!
I don't know why I'm grumpy (that's a hard word to type, by the way) today, and since I know I am and don't want to be, it makes it makes me that much grumpier!
I was good earlier today, but then I did this, then I did that, and now I had planned on sitting and writing something brainy or witty or both! I had all these ideas swimming around in my head, but did I go directly to the blog without passing GO??? Nuuuu, of course not, now it's all gone, bye bye woowoo see ya. So, bye for now, I'm going to go mope.

There is a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy 25 in rural Iowa . For generations, kids have painted slogans, names, and obscenities on this rock, changing its character many times. A few months back, the rock received its latest paint job, and since then it has been left completely undisturbed. It's quite an impressive sight. The flag is actually painted on the rock.

Wow,
It was just WW, now it's Friday & I haven't written a gosh darned thing! No funny anecdotes, no bubbly babble, no fire ant explanations,no report on the chiropractor & my perfectly balanced feet! (sad, the only part of me which is in good shape is only stuff below the ankles! and really that's just structural, I still have the owie toe from when I kicked a door in high school, sigh, I just can't have, oh no, wait.... now that I'm checking stuff out, yes, really looking at SOME of my parts, not any of the interesting ones, I do have pretty good hands/nails, and my hair has grown back very cutely curly, and I do like my butt, hehe, I feel better now) *ding*

My SC mom, Joy found this really cool free (+shipping) paperback swap website! She's been using it a couple weeks now, and hasn't had any problems or snafus, snafoos? snaphues? snaffoos? I think that last one, anyone know? I'm not in the mood to look it up. Duh, spell check, it was the first! the last one looks more fun though, doesn't it? Oh, anyway, you list 9 of your own books to start, which gives you 3 credits, which you use to 'shop' with and 'purchase' other people's books. They mail them to you at their expense. If someone wants one of your books, you get an email, then you print out the shipping wrapper (regular paper, which will print with their address, shipping costs, & lines to show you where to fold around the book. Nifty huh?!), apply postage (media mail for most books is 2.13) & stick in the mail. When they receive your book, you get another Point!!

So, to sum it up, 3 of your books offered = one incoming, then 2.13 for each thereafter (cost of you to ship outgoing/get receipt point/incoming). Big sigh, I guess I could have just said "Check it out, here's the link....' but, I just thought of it.

I was out repotting some geraniums, jasmine, and a hibiscus, and did some petunia trimming, so brain kinda
sunny side up. (not hot enough to be fried).

Fire Ants & Migraines

Arghh!
This weekend has not been pleasant!
Between fire ants invading my laundry room and kitchen and having an almost migraine starting Friday to a full blown one Sunday, to back to an almost one STILL. I have not been a fun person, phbbt, argh, & big sigh. I found a chiropractor which will take my payment form & new patients! Woo-Hoo! So will be seeing them this evening & will hopefully get back to normal, well, my normal at least.
I'll try, will, because I know it's gotta help whatever they do, get back to writing on here regularly and with some substance! I have all these topics I want to cover and just never have enough non-dizzy sit down time to type.
So fingers crossed everybody!

I'll also give some info on fire ants for those of you who have never experienced the nasty mean lightning fast little painful biters!

Preventative Napping

Well, I didn't make it back last night. I was getting all tense and migraney, so I took some stuff and had a preventative nap. I actually did feel better when I woke up, but then it was too late to get on the computer (use the one at my neighbors while mine is down). So, clipped and organized some coupons and went to bed. Napping is tiresome, yawn.

I'm now trying to find all those pictures I was talking about in that other post. I know they're on here somewhere!! I did label the folder, so you would think a search would find them, but nooooo. Once I get more adept at all this button-link-html-element stuff, things will be oh so much more festive (probably confusing too, but I'll try not to overwhelm with fluff stuff!)

Hopefully it won't take me too much longer to find them and get 'em attached! I may have lunch, wow it's 2 already, yes I'll have lunch first, then I'll be back!

Basic Babble

Well, I got off to a good start, writing every day, emailing, etc., then zip zero nada! Let's say I was just teasing you all.... (ya that sounds good, better than I was lazy) giving you a taste of my wit n wisdom, roflol!
Actually, I did start doing something constructive on Friday, I got all my pictures downloaded off my camera and got them all into nice organized files (yes really), but then I started getting the neck pinchy thing which usually leads to my migranes, so I stopped and napped. What did I do the rest of the weekend which kept me from here? I really can't even say! I don't think it was anything substantial or important, just misc stuffs, sigh.
I did realize, while I was lying there with an Imitrex, Allergy Pill, & pain pill, in me (I figured one of them had to work), I realized I haven't talked about me or my life or anything of that nature.
This should be a shock to all of those which know me personally, that I haven't even mention my pets! I tend to go on, and on, and on about them, which I will start doing on here I'm sure. I betcha can't wait! but, not right now, aww shucky darn, huh? I have to go run some errands before it starts to rain, hahaha, it hasn't in about a month now and all my plants are fizzling out.
I'll be back on later tonight though to add some pictures and some real 'about me' info.

Yummy in My Tummy

Boy, I had the biggest sugar rush last night!!

I never ended up making it to Sonic for my free Root Beer Float, but my neighbor made ..... Bananas Foster!! It was sooooo yummy!! It didn't take her long at all and even though she has her dominant arm in a sling, it wasn't that difficult, (this would be a very impressive thing to make, for those of you which burn water. I have on occasion, nothing to be ashamed of, well sort of, hehe).

Here's the recipe to try ......

Joy 's Bananas Foster

4 small green bananas sliced (your shape choice)
1 stick butter
1 c - 1 1/2 packed brown sugar
1/3 - 1/2 cup sesame seeds
1 teaspoon rum or rum flavoring
ice cream, vanilla tastes best
------------------------------------------

Place butter in skillet.
Melt & keep at simmer.
Add sesame seeds.
Cook until lightly brown.
Add brown sugar.
Stir until melted.
Add rum.
Add sliced bananas.
Simmer until soft. (mushy edges)
Turn off stove.
Immediately spoon over ice cream.
Eat.
Be Joy-ous!

The website is 'Hey, It's Free' & it was going to be one of my featured 'favorite sites', here in the next couple posts, once I get the hang of the whole link thing. Plus I wanted to have more than just a couple posts up, so when I asked/let them know and if they wanted to check out my site, it wouldn't be too totally stupid and short, but.... I ran across a freebie to let them know about, before I got as organized as I wanted to be!!

I'm sleepy, hungry, my back hurts, and my brain doesn't want to cooperate. Next time, I'll write here first before surfing around!
I'm sure you know how it is: email to read, junk mail to delete, contests to enter, free stuff to sign up for, checking out odd things you've linked yourself into by clicking here and there, etc.
I did find some new cool websites though! I'll look into them some more tomorrow and if they measure up (I'd be ROFLOL, if I thought I could get back up in the chair) I'll add them in a new section for everyone's enjoyment. In case my tiredness made that just funny to me, my mind was thinking the fact something had to 'measure up' was funny, like I have all these requirements and stuff, maybe one day! My little blog can have big aspirations I guess. It thinks it can, it thinks it can!!! (Hmph, I wish I knew where to find those little pictures of things people put on their blogs. I'd put a little train there. Just pretend for me okay? Thanks)

PS. This post would be an example of 'Fluff' - nothing really of substance, but taking up space.

I'm trying to figure out how to let my peeps know I actually got this started, but can't find the 'invite' button all the instructions are talking about! I think I might have finally found a useful link/button thingie and am trying it out, but you have to post for it to work. So 'This is a test of the idiot blog network. This is just a test, no need to hide under your desk, but another cup of coffee IS advisable.'
This is going to be an interesting blog until I get the hang of it, but I guess it'll be something to make us smile!

Morning,

Well I finally got this thing started yesterday, but then I was too button-groggy to do anything else, so I didn't even leave a post! Duh!

This actually isn't a 'good first post' because, hehe, this is all I'm going to say, as I have to hurry and run some errands inbetween people dropping by to check on Joy (more on this later).

Hmm, now that I think about it and have reread (that's a stupid looking word, isn't it?) this is actually a really good post...... It throws you right into my wonderful world of Fluff n' Babble! Brains will show up later when I've had some coffee in my system more than a few seconds.
